Amy + Derek | Zingerman’s Cornman Farms Wedding

Just like so many others, Amy + Derek planned and re-planned their wedding a few times! Zingerman’s Cornman Farms wasn’t their original wedding location. When they needed to change to an outdoor wedding, they moved dates and added some new vendors in the mix to help execute it. We began working with them just 2 months before their big day. We jumped right in and this day turned out to be an all-time favorite!
This beautiful cake has a story to tell! The cake was adorned with stunning sugar flowers by the bakehouse. But that’s not all. It was a HOT June day. Like the kind of hot where even if you stand in the shade, you are sweating. I had to make the call to change up the order of the reception to cut the cake as soon as they walked in. We feared she wasn’t going to last much longer. Not even 2 minutes after guests began making their way into the tent, did I (Lynette) hear a very loud gasp from under the tent. It was in that instant I knew we lost her. Thankfully the swift hands of Cornman took care of it with ease. I, however, had to break the news to our sweet couple, we no longer need to cut the cake. Do you know what they did? They started laughing! “Sounds about like 2021!” They were amazing sports about it brushed it off like it was no big deal. We were SO thankful we already had the room reveal and the cake was photographed. Just another story to add to the books!
Even though it was a wildly hot day, it was a beautiful one! While we were only together for a short while, you both are just the sweetest couple and we enjoyed working with you! It was even more fun being able to see you again a few months later at Paige + Patrick’s wedding!. We wish you two all the best!
