Who knew there were so many fancy ways to dress up your napkins to match those beautiful wedding centerpieces! We believe napkins are there to accent your overall tablescape design and not to be your pop of fun color. Napkins should complement the design, not BE the design. We break down a few of our favorite napkin folds for you to pick from.
Trifold
The trifold napkin is perfect for a menu card that has a lot of design detail on it where you don’t want to cover up the design by hiding it in the pocket. Trifold napkins go perfectly on top of a charger plate for a perfectly finished place setting.

The Knot
Is there a more perfect name for a napkin fold used at a wedding? The knot is a perfect napkin fold option, especially for fabrics that may otherwise look a bit wrinkly or shabby. The knot is surprisingly versatile with how and where you can place it on your charger or within your place setting. It’s also incredibly versatile no matter your style; from romantic and modern to whimsical and classic.

The Pocket
The pocket napkin fold is perfect for those OCD-loving designs where everything HAS. A. PLACE. Especially if you have very little detail on the bottom of your menu card, the pocket fold perfectly houses this helpful piece of stationery. There are a couple of different types of pocket folds, one is more rectangular (long and skinny) and the other is a bit more squared off. Both are lovely and work with any design aesthetic.

Waterfall
The waterfall napkin fold is one of our favorites due to the simplicity of the fold and ease of use by your guests. The napkin can be placed either on top of or underneath the charger plate to hold in place. The waterfall napkin usually looks best in a monochromatic or similar color choice to the linen it’s designed with.
Square
It’s a square, and it’s a great option for those who opt to not have a menu card. It adds a sense of completeness to the design without having the napkins feel like an afterthought. The square is swimming in the modern style pool of event design.
Wrap
The wrap style lends itself to a very clean and classic look! The napkin can be wrapped around the plate or the charger. We have also seen this style vertical on the plate, and looks sophisticated with an added individual guest menu!
Chair Waterfall
This unique take gives an old-world charm and creates an element of design in itself. This style works well with a unique chair option such as these Cane Back Louis Pop Chair from Detroit Chiavari.
